Plaza San Miguel

Plaza San Miguel, located at the south side of the chapel, is an open dominated by a grand fountain topped by a statue of San Miguel slaying the devil. Ancient bells hang from a wooden belfry beside a picturesque convento. A statue of Nuestra SeƱora de los Remedios stands to one side, while steps lead down to the Avenida de Azucao. Fruit bearing trees, a Sarguelas and an ancient Manzanita, provide a cool shade.

Plaza Manzanilla

Plaza de Manzanilla, the main plaza fronting the chapel and the beach, is the focal space of the Sitio. The houses and other buildings around the plaza are made of vintage bricks and wood salvaged from mid-century structures from around Ilocos Norte. Stone buttresses inspired after that of the Paoay Church line three sides, and the entire plaza is paved with flat coral stones in irregular shapes sourced from the northern town of Pasuquin. Manzanilla bushes are planted around the plaza, along with "escalatinas" (Ilocano variety of bougainvillea in a rich shade of scarlet), and gumamelas.
